Marrakech as a wedding destination has a certain special magic to it... The desert climate, really high temperatures even in spring and autumn, crazy busy streets and squares, such an exotic culture at each step and beautiful riads for a real-feel stay in this amazing city.
We were so lucky that our first international destination wedding experience took us to this not so everyday place. Another bit of a magic was the fact that a couple living in New Zealand who contacted us to shoot their beautiful intimate wedding, decided to book us after learning of our incredible story of an ultimate connection with New Zealand.
And they chose Marrakech for being a very special and unique place with its kind of energy. It could be easily seen and just a little bit harder to photograph, but we did our best to do it a justice and to give Sarah & Dan the most beautiful memory.
They had a small symbolic ceremony in a beautiful riad Dar Zaman in Medina which they rented as an accommodation for them and their family. The closest circle of family came from New Zealand and the UK to witness their beautiful day that was only about love. After this intimate ceremony, we hit the outer part of Marrakech to have less people around us and even found few camels to photograph with. Their day ended in a classical restaurant right on Jemaa el Fna, the most famous square in Marrakech.
This was also the wedding that showed me how intensive and completely different intimate weddings can be. I don’t remember when, before or after that, I felt that much of a connection and an emotional impact that was a result of only closest people around. I hope these photos will show you a lot more:
